My personal yoga journey began in 2007, when I first stepped onto the mat with a curiosity about the deeper relationship between the body, the mind and healing. What began as a personal exploration and self healing soon became a path that would shape my life’s work.
After several years of dedicated practice and study, I completed my yoga teacher training in 2011 and began offering weekly classes within my place of work for our team staff.
In 2012, I made the decision to leave my full-time job and step fully into self-employment as a yoga teacher for the community. At the time this was seen as a bold — and by many, risky — decision. Yoga was still relatively unknown in our town and there were very few wellness or healing spaces in the county. Many people questioned the choice.
But I trusted the quiet inner knowing that this was the path meant for me.
I followed what felt lit from within, even when the road ahead was uncertain.
That decision became the beginning of everything that followed.

Creating a Community Space
As my classes began to grow in popularity, so did the community that formed around them. It became clear that people were longing for a place where they could pause, breathe and reconnect with themselves.
This vision led me to create my own yoga studio in Carlyon Bay.
What had once been an abandoned post office and corner shop was transformed over six months of working hard on a renovation, which turned into a beautiful healing space. In 2013, the studio opened its doors with the intention of offering yoga classes, mini retreats and holistic therapies — a sanctuary where people could step away from the pressures of daily life and come home to themselves.
-A home from home retreat.
The studio quickly became a thriving and much-loved community space. Classes and retreats regularly sold out, and at one point I was teaching 13 classes per week.
What began as a single vision grew into something much bigger — a genuine yoga community. I created a range of weekly classes while also welcoming other holistic therapists and supported other yoga teachers in sharing the space.Over the years many of my students went on to train as yoga teachers themselves and some even opened their own studios and wellness spaces locally. Seeing this ripple effect within the community has been one of the greatest joys of my work.
At a time when wellness spaces were still rare in the area, the studio offered something different — a place where people could slow down, heal, recharge and reconnect with themselves.

Bringing Yoga Into Nature
My love for nature has always been a guiding inspiration within my work.
In 2015, I founded and began hosting beach yoga classes on the sands of Carlyon Bay Beach, allowing people to practice with the sound of the sea and the rhythm of the natural elements around them.
I also introduced outdoor yoga sessions within the beautiful surroundings of the Japanese Gardens, creating experiences that brought people back into connection with the land, the seasons as they changed and the simple joy of being outdoors.
For many, these sessions became an invitation to step away from the busyness of modern life and rediscover a sense of presence and freedom through nature.

Supporting Mothers
During my time running the studio, I also created a deeply meaningful offering for Pregnancy yoga and mini sanctuary sessions called Mama Earth Retreats.
These sessions were designed specifically for new mothers navigating the tender journey of postpartum recovery. Mothers could move gently with their bodies alongside their babies, share birth stories, receive nourishment and be held in a supportive community space.
Each retreat included baby yoga, baby massage, nourishing homemade food and guided relaxation practices for both mother and baby.
The inspiration for these gatherings came from my own experience of motherhood and the lack of support I encountered while recovering from birth trauma after my first child. I found myself asking the question:
“This cannot be it for women after birth.”
So I created the space I wished had existed.
These retreats became a place where mothers could feel seen, heard and supported while forming beautiful connections with one another and their babies.
I have since written and published my first book, this one highlighting and offering the deep need for support during pregnancy, birth and postpartum: “ A guided journey through Pregnancy, Birth, Postpartum & Motherhood”— Infused with Sacred Support, Ancient Techniques, Natural Remedies.
My writing continues to form a big part of developing self sanctuary, life reflection as transformation and self medicine.

Motherhood Along the Way
While running the studio and teaching full time, I was also journeying through motherhood myself.
In 2016, my second son was born. I continued teaching classes throughout my pregnancy and remained on the mat until the final weeks before his birth.
Twelve weeks after welcoming him earthside, I returned to teaching again, a little sooner than I had planned — balancing motherhood of two boys alongside the work I loved so deeply.
These experiences re-shaped my understanding of community, the female body, pregnancy, recovery and the emotional landscape of motherhood in profound ways. Leading me into further my work in creating self sanctuary and expansion into developing healing spaces within the community.

A New Chapter
After completing the five-year lease on the studio, the doors closed in 2018, opening the way for a new and more expansive chapter.
Since then I have worked as a freelance yoga teacher, creating sanctuary sessions, workshops and mini retreats in beautiful spaces across Cornwall.
This new way of working has allowed me the freedom to collaborate with other teachers and therapists, explore inspiring locations and continue developing creative experiences that bring people together in meaningful ways.
I currently host classes in my hometown of Charlestown, Fowey and Mevagissey along with retreats, workshops and special events throughout Cornwall.
⸻
Spa & Wellness Collaborations
Alongside my independent work, I have also collaborated with luxury spa hotels to create yoga offerings for guests and local members.
From 2017 to 2021, I hosted regular yoga sessions at the beautiful Carlyon Bay Hotel for hotel guests, both outdoors within the grounds and inside the spa facilities.
In 2018, I began teaching at The Cornwall Spa Hotel, where I spent six solid years helping to develop community yoga offerings alongside spa membership experiences. These sessions became incredibly popular and created opportunities for local people to enjoy restorative wellness experiences within a luxurious environment.
Creating accessible retreats and sanctuary spaces for the local community continues to be something very close to my heart and I am currently teaching weekly sessions at the Fowey Hall Hotel for guests, spa members and the local community.

Additional Work & Creative Practice
Alongside teaching yoga, I have experience in:
•One-to-one yoga therapy sessions
•Bespoke healing sessions for trauma recovery
•Group sessions for organisations including the NHS and local hospice care
•Celebrity and private group bookings
I am also passionate about creativity and craft. As a fabric artist, I host Yoga & Yarn sessions that combine mindful movement with creative healing meditation. I teach traditional knitting techniques while encouraging sustainable slow fashion and the use of natural materials and inspire others to create their own projects and make their own clothes from organic skin safe materials.
Creative practice has always been another pathway for stillness, expression and healing and I love to share it.

My Teaching Approach
My classes honour the traditional foundations of yoga while also incorporating additional healing modalities that support the modern nervous system.
These include:
• Intuitive movement embodiment practices
• Traditional yogic breathwork
• Guided meditation
• EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) tapping
• Nervous system regulation practices
• Sound and frequency healing
• Whole body tapping, gentle shaking and somatic release work
I teach a variety of styles including:
• Vinyasa Flow
• Yin Yoga
• Restorative Yoga
• Pregnancy Yoga Journey Sessions
• Pre and Post Natal Care - Postpartum Healing and post natal self sanctuary ritual techniques
• Sleep Sessions and Yoga Nidra
My approach is always centred around meeting the body exactly where it is.
Yoga is not about forcing the body into shapes. It is about listening, softening and learning to reconnect with yourself in an honest and compassionate way.
Whether someone comes to class needing strength, rest, healing, emotional support or simply a quiet moment to breathe — there is always a practice that can meet them there.
My intention is always to guide people back toward a deeper sense of peace, connection and freedom within themselves and their lives.
A life where we can truly thrive, not simply survive.
